When was the last time you sat in silence and heard the whisperings of your soul and tapped into your instincts?  Instincts are what have kept man alive and safe since forever, well at least since we lived in caves.

Sayings such as gut instinct, the hairs on the back of my neck stood up, I could feel a presence behind me, aren’t just imaginary lines in novels.  They’ve originated from times gone by where we knew instinctual living was essential for survival.  Perhaps it still is?

Imagine no Facebook, no internet, no TV, no media revving up the mass consciousness to fear, just you and your innate ability to no what’s right and wrong for you in your world.

Taking time to get back to what’s right for you takes practice.  The practice of being present is a gift that costs nothing but gives much.   Take time to sit in silence, you’ll be surprised how empowering it will be.  Take time to tune in to the world around you, you’ll be surprised by what you see, feel, hear and know.  Next time you get that niggle about something, listen and see how much more influence you have over the outcomes in your life.

How to practice just being. The following is an easy way to go within & tune into your gut instincts.

  1. Grab your phone, turn it off, turn the timer of to 5 minutes
  2. Then just to sit still and focus on each of your senses one at a time for around 1 minute
  3. Firstly look all around you and notice what do you see?
  4. Then close your eyes and notice what do you hear?
  5. Keeping your eyes closed, what do you smell?
  6. Now still with your eyes closed, feel inside, tune into your heart, what do you feel?
  7. Still tuning inwards, what do you know? (This could be about yourself or a particular issue/challenge your currently experiencing or solution you’re wanting around any area of your life).

With practice you can extend the time and as you get used to tuning in, the knowing & answers will come quickly and with ease.
